Our rentals kayaks do not require paddling experience and are user friendly. The paddling venues are gentle shallow waters that are surrounded by beautiful mangrove forest and abundant wildlife. Discover the ultimate Florida experience.

WHAT TO EXPECT
Sweetwater Kayaks rentals are available at Weedon Island Preserve on Saturday and Sunday 9:00 am till 4:00 pm. Walk ups and Reservations are welcomed. During the week call (727) 570-4844 for reservations and your rentals will be delivered to Weedon Island. You will need to come by the shop first to pay and sign a wavier.

Fees:
Half day rentals: Singles $35; Doubles $50.00
Hourly: Singles $15; Doubles $20

Private Group
Go to Weedon Island and paddle the beautiful mangrove tunnels that take you through a mangrove forest that opens into private lagoons. There is a marked trail that is easy to follow. You will see an amazing array of wildlife: Giant Blue Herons, Egrets, Roseate Spoonbills, Night Herons, Ibis, Osprey, King Fisher, Jumping Mullet, Sting Rays, Manatees, and Dolphin. There are facilities at Weedon Island Preserve along with boardwalks, observation tower and a Nature and Science Center. You can take your kayak away to the local rivers or explore Ft Desoto or anywhere your heart desires. The kayak(s) are secured on your car/truck and away you go! For a large group, the kayaks may be delivered to the launch site you specify.

Sit-on-Tops
This kayak is very user friendly and is great for the whole family. Just hop on and paddle away! Single and two person sit-on-tops are available.

 

Recreational Kayak
These kayaks have large open cockpits which are easy to get in and out of. They are generally wider than sea kayaks and are more stable. They are actually more stable than sit-on-top kayaks.

 

Tandem (for two people) Recreational Kayak
Double your fun with is kayak. A single, wide open cockpit design gives this tandem a canoe-like appearance.

 

Sea Kayak
We have several types of sea kayaks which are appropriate for the beginner as well as the experienced kayaker. Based on information provided, we will select the kayak right for you. Fiberglass Sea kayaks available upon request.
